Experimental stop-motion videos created entirely from individual photographs. These short films use metaphoric imagery and an avant-garde visual language to explore critical global issues.
MEAT GRINDER
“Meat Grinder" is a stop-motion video that explores the tragic fate of a generation taken hostage by a perverse system rife with double standards and manipulative propaganda. In this world of hypocrisy and cruelty of the chosen few, the illusion of stability and security masks the real purpose of individuals: to be cannon fodder, mere resources for the system when the time comes.
The project metaphorically portrays how the system conditions its members to live without will or a desire for freedom, transforming them into ruthless dummies.
The video reveals that maternal protection is a mere mirage; the real goal is to serve as fuel for the relentless war machine. Like livestock on a farm, the system feeds its inhabitants, preparing them for slaughter, where war grinds everyone without distinction. "Meat Grinder" lays bare the absence of choice and freedom, turning the viewer into a witness of how this bloody, infernal mill continues to spin, enriching those in power.
More than 1000 photographs were used in the stop motion. All sets and costumes were hand-made without the use of computer graphics or artificial intelligence.
ULTRAVIOLENT
Over the centuries, many men believed that women were their inferiors and treated them like maids, slaves, or pets. Women were often left powerless and unable to leave the house unaccompanied by their male counterparts. In some countries, this is still the case. In the modern civilized world, women have managed to carve out freedoms and rights for themselves that are equal to those granted to men. And to this, we owe, first and foremost, the feminist movement, which made incredible efforts through sacrifices to this cause. But how are these rights being exercised now? How does a modern woman use them? And how does the way we raise girls affect their ability to make choices later on in life?
Many parents instill in their daughters that their destiny is to serve a man from an early age. The protagonist's parents are portrayed as blind in this story, symbolizing a society that promotes superficial values. Parents often raise future wives with pet minds. Early in childhood, a girl learns to doubt her capabilities due to gender. She awaits a prince on a white horse, her future owner--this is the limit of her dreams. And so, a cycle of dependency is instilled early on and left to grow into adult relations. Dependent relationships are very often violent and lead to abuse and manipulation. When these acts occur, the conditioned woman often returns to her prince, and their relationship ends in tragedy. Though we would like to punish the rapist and assist the victim in the name of justice, there is rarely a chance to do so. The seeds planted in childhood have already created a pattern ripe for abuse. This is a history of violence.
Dramatic, grotesquely theatrical, and true. A story where there can be no happy ending.
METAMORPHOSIS
This stop-motion movie uses symbolism to represent: fragile human consciousness influenced by mass media, the hypocrisy of modern society, and an average human, who is forced by the system to spend a precious lifetime either on basic survival needs or excessive consumption.
Black and white colors are used to emphasize the edge between good and evil, on which humanity is balancing. Bodies in bandages symbolize sick mankind, weakened by prejudices and fears, and vulnerable to manipulations. Information is one of the most dangerous weapons now.
Just as a cosmetic surgeon can change a person's physical appearance, those who control mass media can change how reality appears to us, creating the illusion of freedom and choice.
